Ron Yuan is in talks to direct “The Cage” written by John Fusco (Forbidden Kingdom, Young Guns, Hildalgo) w/ China’s Chang Chun Film Group (1911) with Chris Brinker (Boondock Saints) and Jim Crabbe also attached to produce. Yuan is developing a twisted post-apocalyptic samurai horror western “Forgotten 8” with Alex Tse (Watchmen) as Producer. Yuan was also recently attached to direct Jeff Amano’s “Bullet Head Hill” with Brazil as a backdrop, a gritty coming of age story a la City of God mixed with the world of Kapoiera and MMA. Also in development are Yuan’s mythic feature “Wind and Water” and action series pilots “Lollipops” and “Cold” with Zoe Bell and Will Yun Lee attached.
Yuan's MiniFlix Films with Sony (SPE) co produced three edgy graphic novel noirs (Three Bullets, Tea and Remembrance and Lollipops) in which Yuan wrote, directed and produced. Yuan's award winning work has premiered in over 30 festivals worldwide (Toronto, Sundance, Egypt, Beijing, Macao, Tribeca, Newport, Texas, Kansas City, and Comic Con) Yuan's vision behind the camera is breathing a new energy into the film arena. Yuan starred, produced and directed action on recently released "The Girl from the Naked Eye" (AMC) Yuan also consulted on "Blood and Bone"(Sony) and “Ella Enchanted”(Miramax). Yuan also lent his expertise as Action Director for Ed Brubaker's "Angel of Death"(Sony) and Sundance sensation "Black Dynamite"(Sony)
